Established in 2022, REM Salon is a clean air, creative space in Logan Square where individuality, education, and good hair come first. Founded by Chrissy Collins, REM is home to a team of stylists who specialize in intuitive cutting, bold and natural color, curly hair, and sustainable beauty. We're fragrance-transparent, gender-inclusive, and community-driven, built for artists who want to grow and clients who want to feel seen, heard, and amazing when they leave our chairs.
At REM, we do not charge more based on hair texture. Whether your hair is coily, curly, straight, or somewhere in between, our pricing is based on time and service...not bias. Everyone deserves expert care and respect in our chairs.

With over a decade of experience, Chrissy has dedicated 16+ passionate years to the art of curls, razor cutting, and lived- in hair color. She offers a tailored experience, intricately customized to embrace your unique hair journey. Every session with Chrissy is a personalized encounter, thoughtfully aligned with your individual needs and aspirations for your hair. Passionate about natural waves and curls, she trained under renowned stylist Chrissy Collins at REM Salon. Now a stylist, Katie offers expert brow shaping, lash services, and personalized curly haircuts that enhance your natural beauty. Lala Smith is a seasoned haircutting specialist at REM Salon, bringing their expertise in razor cutting and a focus on curly hair to every client since 2017. Lala is passionate about crafting effortless haircuts for all genders, textures, and lengths that look stunning the moment you leave their chair.
They are deeply connected with their clients, creating a welcoming space where you can chat about everything from Mercury being in retrograde to how your snake plants ward off the evil eye. Obsessed with all things vintage, Lala also offers Oracle card pulls for those seeking a little extra magic in their day. Additionally, Lala offers color services, but be sure to book a haircut first.

Felix is a queer, Mexican, trans, nonbinary hairstylist in Chicago specializing in shags, mullets, textured short cuts, long layered cuts, major length transformations, all-over bleaching, and creative color.
With six years behind the chair, Felix blends meticulous technique with collaborative, gender-affirming care, helping clients express their truest selves through thoughtfully crafted hair. Their detail-driven approach, commitment to hair health, and passion for education create an experience rooted in trust, transformation, and artistry.

Meet Annelise (They/Them)
Chrissy's Assistant / Stylist/ Colorist
Annelise (they/them) is a rising Chicago hairstylist with a growing passion for natural curls and waves. Since starting their career in 2022, they’ve fallen in love with all forms of haircutting - razor cuts, shags, curly cuts, and barbering-believing every haircut should support a client’s lifestyle, not restrict it.
They’re equally drawn to color work, from soft, lived-in blonding to bold vivids. After relocating from Springfield, IL to train under curl specialist Chrissy Collins, Annelise is deepening their curl education and building their craft in Chicago. A lover of travel, vintage finds, and cats, they’re on their way to earning their “masters in curls.”
